How to Build a Highly Engaged Email List
The right way
Hi email friends,
Let’s discuss some tips on how to build a highly engaged email list today.
What is an engaged email list?
An engaged email list is a list of subscribers who are interested in your content and open and click on your emails.
In fact: “Email has an average return on investment of $44 for every $1 spent.”
That’s quite the ROI.
No doubt, engaged subscribers are more likely to follow and remember your content, to buy your products and services, and they can also help you promote your content on social media and other channels.
How to build an engaged email list
Here are a few tips on how to build an engaged email list:
Offer valuable lead magnets. Lead magnets are freebies that you offer to potential subscribers in exchange for their email addresses. Lead magnets should be valuable and relevant to your target audience. For example, a blogger who writes about health and fitness could offer a lead magnet such as an e-book on the 10 best healthy recipes for beginners. I offer my Creators’ Toolbox as a lead magnet for subscribers to my newsletter, “SoloCreator”.
Create compelling sign-up forms. Your sign-up forms should be clear, concise, and easy to fill out. No fluff. A couple of fields, max. They should also highlight the benefits of subscribing to your email list. Testimonials help along the way.
Segment your email list. Once you have an email list, segment it into different groups based on your subscribers' interests, demographics, sources, product fit, and other factors. This allows you to send more targeted and relevant emails.
Personalize your emails. People are more likely to open and click on emails that are personalized to them. You can personalize your emails by using the subscriber's name, mentioning their interests (if you have a form or survey in place to get this information, for example), or including relevant content.
Provide valuable content. The best way to keep your subscribers engaged is to send them valuable content. This could include blog posts, e-books, webinars, or other types of content that your subscribers will help get solutions to a problem or answers to crucial questions.
Send regular emails. Don't just send your subscribers emails when you have something to sell. Send them regular emails with valuable content, updates about your business, and special offers.
The bottom line
Building a highly engaged email list takes time and effort, but it's worth it in the long run. Engaged subscribers are more likely to engage with you, reply, buy your products and services, and they can also help you promote your content on social media and other channels.
